Sir David Jason says he is a great fan of helping young people to learn how to fly.
The star of A Touch of Frost and Only Fools and Horses has flown gliders himself and also has a helicopter pilot's license.
He was speaking during his visit to RAF Syerston near Newark where he presented air cadets there with a batch of flight simulators.
