Glenn Hoddle has emerged as the bookies' favourite for the Nottingham Forest job following the sacking of Billy Davies.
The former England coach has not managed a side since stepping down from the Wolverhampton Wanderers role in 2006.
Forest owner, Fawaz Al-Hasawi, reportedly has Hoddle and former Watford manager Gianfraco Zola on his shortlist to replace Davies - who was sacked following the club's 5-0 defeat to rivals Derby County.
Former Forest player Stuart Pearce and Malky Mackay have also been linked with the role.
