The Police Commissioner for St. Lucia has apologised to the family of a Warwickshire man killed defending his wife from attackers.
Roger Pratt, 62, was killed on board the couple's yacht in Vieux Fort on Friday night, police said.
His wife, Margaret, was treated for injuries in hospital and has since been released.
Vernon Francis has moved to reassure tourists, saying while St. Lucia "is not perfect" it is "a safe country."
