Proposals for an expansion of Birmingham Airport have not been shortlisted as part of a report published this morning. The Airports Commission report has looked at ways to maximise airport capacity.

CEO of Birmingham Airport positive after report

The CEO of Birmingham Airport, Paul Kehoe, has responded positively to the Davies Commission Report issued this morning on increasing airport capacity in the UK.

But Mr Kehoe believes there are still concerns the report fails to address the whole British economy.

Our hard work has paid off. Birmingham Airport has today been recognised as an integral piece of the long-term aviation puzzle.

We will continue to work alongside our stakeholders to ensure Birmingham Airport delivers for local businesses, passengers and the economy.

Despite the stated remit of the Commission to take a “UK wide perspective”, the Interim Report focuses disproportionately on the South East further entrenching the dominance of the South East economy to the detriment of the growth of the rest of the UK.
