Chris Pike, who lives on Pastures road close to the chemical spill, told ITV News Central:
"I looked out of the window and saw a lorry there emitting something not very nice. Then the fire engines arrived. I just left the house. I thought, If they're going to block off the road I don't want to be blocked in."
