Birmingham Airport is expected to announce on 10th June that it is considering building a second runway.

It is in response to the Airports Commission which is looking at how Britain can meet demands for air travel in the future.

Birmingham Airport: 'second runway would create 60,000 new jobs'

The boss of Birmingham Airport, Paul Kehoe, says a 'second runway would create 60,000 jobs for young people and benefit future generations for the next 100 years'.

The proposed second runway, which has yet been given the green light, would 'integrate with HS2,' he added.

Birmingham Airport hopes to submit its expansion plans to the Airports Commission by mid-July.
