The Accident and Emergency department at Queen’s Hospital, Burton, is currently closed due to a number of people coming into contact with an unidentified powder.
We would like to note that A & E is the only department that has been closed. All our other clinics and services are open and functioning as normal, and patients planning to attend our hospitals for anything other than an emergency should still come as planned.
Once we have confirmed that there is no risk to our patients, we will re-open the A & E department. In the meantime, we would ask our patients to kindly bear with us and attend Derby Hospitals, or other hospital local hospitals if they need emergency treatment.
