We can confirm that we are dealing with a major incident at the A & E Department on the Queen’s Hospital site, Burton on Trent.
We can confirm that a number of people came into contact with an unidentified powder in their workplace and came to our A & E for treatment.
To ensure the safety of all our patients we have closed the Accident and Emergency Department as a precautionary measure.
The substance is currently being analysed and we will provide an update as soon as we have more information.
