Supporters of the English Defence League (EDL) are planning to stage a demonstration in Walsall town centre today (September 29) while groups in opposition to the EDL are due to hold an event in the town simultaneously.

Police say 28 arrests were made today during the EDL protest in Walsall.
Bricks, bottles and planks of wood have been thrown at riot police. A number of people have been injured.
