28 June 2012 at 4:11pm Man dies and another rescued in flash flooding in Shropshire A man has died after being swept away by floodwater near Ludlow in Shropshire. Another man in his nineties had to be rescued by fire crews after becoming stranded in his car in Bridgnorth. He was left unharmed after flood water rose by three feet around his car on the A454 at Worfield. The Environment Agency has warned people in the region to remain vigilant and prepare for flooding. "The fast-moving heavy rain going over the region is already causing surface water flooding and could cause rivers to rise rapidly."
