The Olympic Torch is touring the UK on a 70 day relay. It is being carried through villages, towns and cities across the Midlands travelling by boat, train, tram, and cable car, and even across ice.
The Olympic Torch is touring the UK on a 70 day relay. It is being carried through villages, towns and cities across the Midlands travelling by boat, train, tram, and cable car, and even across ice.
The torch starts day 45 at Coventry Transport Museum, heads to Coventry Cathedral and then out of the city to Binley. It will also visit the City of Coventry Stadium. There are then torch relays in Rugby, including a visit to Rugby School, and Dunchurch.
It makes a private stop at Princess Diana’s family home and resting place Althorp House, before relays in Northampton, Wellingborough, Isham, Kettering, Geddington, Corby, Dingley, Market Harborough, Lubenham, Foxton via the Foxton Locks, and Kibworth Harcourt.
The Leicester leg sees the torch carried from Oadby into the city centre, finishing with an evening celebration at Abbey Park.
