The Olympic Torch is touring the UK on a 70 day relay. It is being carried through villages, towns and cities across the Midlands travelling by boat, train, tram, and cable car, and even across ice.
The Olympic Torch is touring the UK on a 70 day relay. It is being carried through villages, towns and cities across the Midlands travelling by boat, train, tram, and cable car, and even across ice.
The torch starts day 42 at Nottingham Castle and is carried past the Robin Hood statue, and then through Lenton, Radford, Forest Fields, Sherwood rise and Basford. It then visits Newstead Abbey, followed by relay legs in Glapwell, Bolsover, Calow and Chesterfield. **
The torch is then transported west where it is carried through Matlock and on a cable car to the Heights of Abraham. It’s then carried through Darley Dale, and then taken to Chatsworth House, followed by relays in Bakewell, Buxton and Ashbourne.
It’s then carried through Derby, past the cathedral, finishing with an evening celebration at Darley Park.
