Angry residents have taken to twitter to vent their frustrations about Birmingham's bin strikes.

A tweet read 'Happy 50th Birthday to our rubbish' and claims rubbish on Northfield Road in Birmingham has not been collected for 50 days.

Refuse workers began strike action back in June after a dispute between themselves and Birmingham City Council over the downgrading of 113 jobs.

Unite the union has warned the Birmingham bin dispute could continue until Christmas.

Residents from across the country's second city have continued to raise concerns over hygiene and health as the refuse workers bin strikes look set to continue in to sixth week, with union bosses warning it could last as long as Christmas.
