Girl, 11, dies after falling from water ride at theme park

A post mortem examination for a schoolgirl who fell from a ride at Drayton Manor Theme Park has found her preliminary cause of death was chest injuries.

11-year-old Evha Janneth, from Leicester, was on a school trip last week when she fell on the Splash Canyon ride.

The coroner has opened and adjourned the case.

Investigations into her death continue in conjunction with Staffordshire Police and the Health and Safety Executive.
