Public thanked for help provided during Storm Doris
Northamptonshire Police have thanked the public for their support during Storm Doris.
The force took more than 80 calls yesterday (23 February) about fallen trees blocking roads, as well as other incidents involving storm related damage and a number of road traffic collisions.
Superintendent Dennis Murray, from the Force Control Room, said:
Woman hit on head with carport roof
A woman has been treated for a serious head injury and taken to hospital after being hit by a carport roof.
The incident happened on Hartshill Road in Stoke on Trent, yesterday (23 February) afternoon.

There is no service on Arriva Trains Wales between Chester and Shrewsbury due to storm Doris and high winds.
Tickets are being accepted on local bus routes.

Replacement bus services are running on London Midland services between Lichfield Trent Valley and Sutton Coldfield, between Longbridge and Redditch and between Longbridge and Bromsgrove.
There is a service suspended between Redditch and Lichfield Trent Valley due to damage to the overhead electric wires.
Tickets are being accepted on Local buses and CrossCountry services.

Police confirm Storm Doris victim is 29 year old woman
Police have confirmed that a woman who died in Wolverhampton this afternoon was 29 years old.
She was walking past Starbucks in the pedestrianised area of Dudley Street just before midday when wooden debris from a nearby building, described by an eyewitness as the size of a coffee-table, struck her.
Emergency services said nothing could be done to save her and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers are now working alongside the council to establish how it happened.
The area remains cordoned off while investigations are ongoing. The family of the victim have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
M1 re-opens following clear-up operation
All lanes of the M1 Southbound have now re-opened following an earlier closure to remove hanging debris from an overhead gantry. Delays are thought to be clearing.
