The Carole Nash Classic Motorcycle Mechanics Show takes place this weekend.

This year’s show will welcome former racers Dave Aldana, Don Emde, Mert Lawwill and Gene Romero who’ll be sharing their stories with showgoers.

There will be a dedicated Suzuki area at this year’s event where Barry Sheene’s 1976 and 1977 world championship-winning bikes will be on display for visitors to take a look at.

Weekend Picks: International Food and Crafts Festival

International Food and Crafts Festival: Fri 14th - Sun 16th Oct (Swadlincote, Derbyshire)

Organisers say they expect more than 10,000 visitors at the International Food and Crafts Festival in Swadlincote this weekend.

Visitors will get to sample flavours from across India, Poland, Germany and Spain. Just some of the food at the event include paella, churros, crepes, cheese, olives and chocolate.

Crafts including jewellery, clothing, artwork and gifts from around the world will also be available at the stalls.

On Sunday members of the public can enter the community Bake Off.

Weekend Picks: Taekwondo World Record Attempt

Taekwondo World Record: Sun 16th October (Broadgate, Coventry)

Thousands of Taekwondo students from all over the UK will join together as they compete to break the Guinness World Record for the largest Taekwondo display.

The current world record is 830 participants. Coventry Taekwondo organisers are hoping to break the record with more than 1000 participants, making it the biggest size that has ever been attempted before in the UK.

The event is being organised by instructors from the Coventry based Taekwondo association TSTUK (Coventry Taekwon-do) which has more than 400 students in and around Coventry.

Weekend Picks: Diwali Leicester

Diwali Leicester: Sun 16th - Sun 30th October (Various locations, Leicester)

Diwali celebrations in Leicester take place this weekend.

The celebrations in the city are one of the biggest outside of India. Last year 37,000 people attended the switch on of the lights on Belgrave Road.

New additions for 2016 event include a Diwali Village on Cossington Street Recreation Ground, an aerial firework display above Belgrave Road and a two-week programme of events across the city including dance, music, theatre and exhibitions.

A vintage and retro fair will be taking place in Coventry this weekend.

There’ll be more than 25 independent retailers, creatives and artists at the event selling vintage clothing, accessories, homeware and vinyl's.

Weekend Picks: Robin Hood Beer and Cider Festival

Robin Hood Beer and Cider Festival 2016: 12th - 15th October (Nottingham Castle)

Nottingham CAMRA's annual beer festival takes place this week.

There'll be more than 1,000 different real ales and 200 real ciders at the event. Visitors can enjoy live entertainment on the Victorian Bandstand.
