Warwick's Marcus Willis to take on Federer

Warwick tennis player Marcus Willis' first appearance on Wimbledon's Centre Court will see him take on Roger Federer in the last match on court.

Willis, ranked 772nd in the world, beat world number 54 Ricardas Berankis on Monday booking his second round clash with the Swiss.

Marcus Willis, who nearly gave up the tour to go coaching full time, succeeded through six rounds of qualifying to reach the opening round of a grand slam for the first time.

British tennis player Marcus Willis' first appearance on Wimbledon's Centre Court will see him take on Roger Federer in the last match on court.

Willis, ranked 772nd in the world, beat world number 54 Ricardas Berankis on Monday booking his second round clash with the Swiss.

He came close to quitting tennis earlier in the year, but his girlfriend, Jenny, convinced him to give it another go.

Rain saw a number of matches postponed on Tuesday, including that of Brit Heather Watson who was due to take on Annika Beck.
