A jury has heard how Luke Harlow sent messages to young girls in the weeks and months leading up to the murder of a Leicestershire teenager.

The court heard in one text message he told a 13 year old girl 'you'll have to come & keep me entertained.'

In another, he messaged a 15 year old girl who told him she was being bullied. Harlow said 'Cheer up hun. Wish I could come & give you cuddles. I'll always spoil you & treat you like a princess.'

Luke Harlow has already admitted grooming 15 year old Kayleigh Haywood and two counts of sexual activity with the teenager.

Stephen Beadman has admitted to raping and killing Kayleigh last November. Kayleigh, who's from Measham in Leicestershire, was found dead in a field close to Ibstock.

Beadman & Harlow both deny falsely imprisoning Kayleigh. The trial continues.

The jury heard, in a police interview Luke Harlow told police that he went to sleep at his house around midnight on Saturday 14th November and that when he woke up the next morning Kayleigh wasn't there.

He said Stephen Beadman came round later to get his keys and that he had scratches on his face. He said Beadman told him that he'd got them during his work as a landscape gardener after a tree fell on him.

He told detectives that when he'd asked Beadman if he'd seen Kayleigh, Beadman replied "No."

The jury hears Luke Harlow admit during his police interview that he did kiss and touch Kayleigh Haywood in a sexual way while she was at his house on the evening of Friday 13th November.

The jury have been shown a video of a police interview with Luke Harlow in which he describes getting to know Kayleigh through Facebook & arranging to meet her in Ibstock.

He told the police that Kayleigh spent the night at his house, and that on Saturday 14th Nov they spent the day watching films.

He said later that evening he and Stephen Beadman went out to buy alcohol and fizzy pop, and that when they returned to his house Kayleigh was drunk and stumbling about after "necking" most of a bottle of Vodka.

Witness Amy Dearden, partner of Samuel Green and was with him at his home in Ibstock on the Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th November last year, this morning told the jury she also heard someone scream "Mummy!" & that it was quite long.

Ms Green told the jury she was worried because it sounded like it was a child.

Witness Samuel Paul Green from Ibstock in Leicestershire has told the court that around midnight on Saturday 14th November he was lying in bed when he heard a loud scream coming from the Sence Valley Forest Park area and someone shout "Mummy!"

He told the jury it sounded like a female voice.

He said he opened his bedroom window and shouted "Is there anybody out there?" - but heard no reply.
