People in Coventry have been signing a book of condolence at the scene of a fatal bus crash.

Two people were killed on Saturday evening when a bus crashed into the Sainsburys store on Trinity Street in the city centre.

The book of condolence has been opened inside the store, which re-opened this morning.

The friends of a seven-year-old boy who died after a bus crashed into a supermarket in Coventry this weekend are being supported by their school counsellor

Headteacher Anne McSharry, from St Anthony's Catholic Primary School in Leamington Spa, where Rowan Fitzgerald attended, says his friends have found the news of his death 'very hard' to take.

Pensioner, Dora Hancox also died in the crash, which happened on Saturday evening.

A book of condolence opened this morning in the Sainsbury's store on Trinity Street, which the bus crashed into.

School pays tribute to pupil, 7, killed in bus crash

The school where seven-year-old Rowan Fitzgerald was a pupil has issued a statement, after his death in Saturday's bus crash in Coventry.

A spokesperson for St Anthony’s Catholic Primary School said:

The seven-year-old boy and pensioner killed in Saturday's bus crash in Coventry have been named.

Rowan Fitzgerald, from Leamington Spa, and Dora Hancox, from Nuneaton, both died when a Stagecoach double decker bus crashed into a supermarket.

Rowan's cousin, an eight-year-old girl, was also injured and remains in hospital in a stable condition.

Five other people also suffered injuries in the collision.
