ITV celebrates 60 years on your screens today

Today ITV turns 60 years old and we've been delving into our archives to find some of the funniest bits from ITV News Central over the years.

Since 1955 we've never shied away from telling the more quirkier stories - as you can see form the clip above.

Over the years some of ITV's unforgettable shows were made by ATV, Central and Carlton Television.

From our Nottingham studios in Lenton Lane came gameshows like Supermarket Sweep, Blockbusters and Family Fortunes.

From Birmingham came talent show New Faces, and of course the unforgettable soap Crossroads.
