Confirmed van, lorry and car involved in M6 crash
It's been confirmed a van, lorry and a car collided on the M6 near Great Barr this morning injuring three people and bringing both carriageways of the motorway to a standstill.
West Midlands Ambulance Service were called out between junctions 7 – 6 southbound at just after 10.30am.
It was reported that an articulated lorry crossed the motorway central reservation and collided with a van and car. East Midlands Ambulance Service found the van driver trapped in his vehicle. He had to be released with the help of the fire service.
The lorry driver was treated for chest pain and taken by ambulance to the City Hospital for further assessment and treatment.
A man travelling as a passenger in the car received minor injuries.

There are serious delays on the M6 between Spaghetti Junction and Junction 7 for Walsall after a lorry collided with a flatbed truck and crashed through the central reservation.
These live traffic cameras show a deserted M6. All lanes were closed in both directions shortly after 10:40am.
The central reservation has been badly damaged and the motorway could be closed until 5pm tonight.
Diversions are in place and motorists are being advised to follow the diversions.
It's causing also chaos on routes around the busiest stretch of motorway in the Midlands.

'Busiest stretch of M6 motorway' gridlocked due to crash
The busiest stretch of motorway in the West Midlands is in gridlock following a pile-up which has closed both carriageways
The M6 is set to be closed until 5pm this evening following the serious crash at 10.40am this morning.
Traffic was queuing back for several miles in both directions after the collision involving a lorry and a pick-up truck.
The crash happened on the northbound carriageway between junction 6 for the A38M Aston Expressway at Spaghetti Junction and Junction 7 at Great Barr.
The truck – a Fed Ex logistics vehicle – careered through the central reservation barrier and came to rest straddling both carriageways.
Emergency services closed the motorway in both directions and traffic tailed back to Junction 5 at Castle Bromwich and Junction 10 at Walsall.
One man was trapped in the cab of his vehicle and firefighters used specialist cutting equipment to free him from the wreckage.
It is not yet clear if anyone is seriously injured.
