Birmingham Airport expects busiest day of Christmas period

Birmingham Airport says today will be one of its busiest of the year with 24,000 people passing through.

The airport says around 340,000 passengers are expected to travel over the next two weeks - an increase of 7.4% over the same period last year.

Passengers are being warned not to take wrapped Christmas presents in their hand luggage as they may need to be opened during security checks.
