The weather has ruined plans for a historic fly-past of Lancaster planes in Lincolnshire. The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will now not take off - but it will meet the Canadian Avro plane on the ground at RAF Coninsgby.

The weather has ruined plans for a historic fly-past of Lancaster planes in Lincolnshire.

The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will now not take off - but it will meet the Canadian Avro plane on the ground at RAF Coninsgby.

There will still be a flypast of the Canadian plane and the Red Arrows.

Those waiting for the planes to land at RAF Coningsby will now only see the Canadian Avro Lancaster land

Diversions in place for WW2 bomber display

The world's last two flying Lancaster Bombers will be on show in Lincolnshire today.

They will be at RAF Coningsby for events this weekend and will perform a special flypast of Lincoln Cathedral.

To allow spectators to get to the base several diversions and the following road closures are in place:

  • A road closure will be in place on Dogdyke Road/ Coningsby Road, between Old Boston Road and New York Road

No waiting/ loading at any time on:

  • Silver Street
  • New York Road/ Dogdyke Road, between Coningsby Road and the B1192 Langrick Road
  • Old Boston Road
  • B1192 Langrick Road, between Leagate Road/Langrick Road and Reedham Lane
  • A 30mph speed limit will be in place on the B1192 Langrick Road, between Leagate Road/ Langrick Road and Reedham Lane
