TRAVEL: M1 CONGESTION EASING - 60 Min Delay
Delays, one lane closed and queueing traffic due to emergency repairs and earlier lorry fire on M1 Northbound between J23 A512 (Loughborough) and J23A A42. Travel time is 60 minutes.
The road was closed at 09:15 until 18:00 when traffic was released from J22. Lane one (of three) closed. The lane closures remain in place whilst the clean up operation
M1 closed for the next 'two to three hours', police say
Police say the M1 Northbound between Junction 22A and 23 will remain closed for the next two to three hours.
The motorway was closed earlier this morning because of a lorry fire.

M1 Northbound expected to reopen 'this evening'
Travel misery is continuing for motorists using the M1 through Leicestershire after a lorry fire closed the entire northbound carriageway at Junction 22 this morning.
Queues are now stretching as far back as J20, and long distance traffic is being advised to leave the M1 onto the M6 and use the M42.
There are now delays of more than three hours. The remains of the lorry have been moved but the clean up operation continues. The motorway is expected to stay closed until at least the evening.
Diversion - Traffic can exit at J22 and take the A511 through Coalville to A42 J13, from where traffic can rejoin the M1 at J23a. Long distance traffic can leaving the M1 at J19 and take the M6 north to J3a, before taking the M42 and A42 north to rejoin M1 at J23a.
TRAVEL: M1 UPDATE - Delays now over 3 hours
Motorists on the M1 northbound in Leicestershire are now facing delays of more than three hours after a lorry fire this morning between J22 and J23.
The fire was first reported at 08:40 and road was closed at 09:15. Trapped traffic has been released but the clean up and recovery operation continues. Motorway is expected to stay closed until at least mid-afternoon.
Diversion - Traffic can exit at J22 and take the A511 through Coalville to A42 J13, from where traffic can rejoin the M1 at J23a. Long distance traffic can leaving the M1 at J19 and take the M6 north to J3a, before taking the M42 and A42 north to rejoin M1 at J23a.

The are delays of up to two and a half hours on the M1 Northbound after a lorry fire in Leicestershire this morning.
It happened between J22 and J22 at 8:40am, closing the entire northbound carriageway.
Traffic is being diverted at J22, and now traffic in Loughborough is being described by one Twitter user as 'chaos'.
Two hour long delay after fire shuts M1 Northbound
There are now two hour delays on the M1 northbound carriageway between J22 A511 (Coalville) and J23A. Queues are now tailing back to J21a A46 (Leicester).
Traffic can exit at J22 and take the A511 through Coalville to A42 J13, from where traffic can rejoin the M1 at J23a.

There are delays of two hours on the M1 Northbound after a lorry fire in Leicestershire shut the entire motorway.
The blaze happened shortly after 9:00am between J22 for Coalville and J23 for East Midlands Airport, and a diversion is now in place.
Traffic can exit at J22 and take the A511 through Coalville to A42 J13, from where traffic can rejoin the M1 at J23a.

Traffic on the motorway is now stationary following the fire which broke out around 08:40 and the carriageway was officially closed at 09:15. The Road is expected to be closed until lunchtime.
