Police name victim of fatal crash in Leicester

A man who died after the car he was travelling in hit a tree in Leicester has been named as Jonilal Manjhu.

The collision happened on Welford Road, just before 3am on Sunday morning.

Another man, aged 33, is in a serious condition at the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who saw a silver Ford Focus or a black BMW1 series travelling out of the city around the time of the collision to contact them.

A 46 year old man arrested in connection with the incident has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
