Cadets pleased with new simulator and Sir David Jason visit
Air Cadets at RAF Syerston have said they are pleased with their new flight simulator that was delivered today - and pleased that Sir David Jason paid them a visit.
Sergeant Ryan Whitworth and Alice Maggs, both air cadets at the base, spoke to ITV News Central after seeing the new kit in action.
Sir David Jason talks Del Boy at RAF Syerston
Sir David Jason joked with ITV News Central correspondent Peter Bearne that his Only Fools and Horses character, Del Boy, would be able to 'flog' all the aircraft at RAF Syerston.
He was visiting the Nottinghamshire base as cadets there were presented with a new flight simulator.
Sir David, who has a helicopter pilots licence, also said he owned his own yellow helicopter with 'Trotters Independent Traders' painted on the side!

Sir David Jason a fan of young people learning to fly
Sir David Jason says he is a great fan of helping young people to learn how to fly.
The star of A Touch of Frost and Only Fools and Horses has flown gliders himself and also has a helicopter pilot's license.
He was speaking during his visit to RAF Syerston near Newark where he presented air cadets there with a batch of flight simulators.

Sir David Jason had a go on one of the new flight simulators which have been paid for with a £1 million donation from the charity, the RAF Charitable Trust.
The machines will help air cadets learn to fly even when the weather, like today, is against them.

The star of hit TV shows Only Fools and Horses and A Touch of Frost has come to the base for the handover of 25 new flight simulators.
Jason, 74, who has a helicopter pilots licence, is a big fan of the RAF Air Cadets who learn to fly gliders at Syerston.
