Seven years since Madeleine McCann disappeared

Madeleine McCann's great aunt has told ITV News Central 'positive' things can come from her disappearance.

Yesterday Kate and Gerry McCann attended a gathering in the village of Rothley in Leicestershire to remember Madeleine 7 years, to the day, after she disappeared.

Her great aunt says Madeleine's parents have done a lot to raise awareness of the importance of acting 'strongly' to find missing and exploited children.

A service has been held to mark the seventh anniversary of the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. The service was held in the village of Rothley in Leicestershire where her parents live.

Gerry McCann spoke at a memorial for his daughter Madeleine who went missing 7 years ago while on holiday with her family in Portugal.

Gerry told people from Rothley, who gathered to remember Madeleine, that 'we hope at least one day we'll know what's happened'.
