Doctors say the condition of a Leicester woman who lost part of her leg after being hit by a New York taxi is improving.
Evelyn Hernandez, a spokesman for the New York hospital, said Sian Green has been upgraded to fair condition.
New York Police Department investigated the incident but the taxi driver involved in the crash said it was not his fault.
Mohammed Fasyal Himon said he was "very sorry" about the accident and blamed a cyclist for causing the crash.

The New York taxi driver involved in the crash which cost a British woman part of her leg has denied it was his fault, as he launched a medical fund to help her.
Sian Green has been recovering from surgery at Bellevue Hospital after a yellow cab ploughed into the 24-year-old as she was enjoying the start of a holiday break in the city with a female friend on Tuesday.
Mohammed Fasyal Himon said: "I am praying for her and her family. But it is not my fault. It is just an accident. This is what cab drivers have to deal with every day," he said. "It could have happened to any of us."

Parents of British tourist hit by taxi thank New Yorkers
The parents of a 23-year-old British tourist who lost part of her leg when she was hit by a taxi in New York on Tuesday have thanked those who helped at the scene of the accident, emergency staff, "and a very special thanks to all the people of New York City and beyond who we don't know."
In a statement via the hospital and obtained by ABC News New York, Sian Green's parents said:
Detectives are reconstructing the crash, ABC News reports, to determine if criminal charges should be filed against the taxi driver.
Parents of injured British tourist fly to New York
Relatives of a British woman who had part of her leg severed when she was hit by a taxi in New York are flying out to be by her side.
Sian Green's parents, Jason and Sonia Green, and boyfriend, William Lord, 26, were due to fly out last night.
“She is in recovery now, and they have had to amputate what's left of her foot,” Mr Green said.
“We are a really close family we are all devastated by what has happened, we don't know what to say. We just want to be at our daughter's side right now.”

Witnesses say the cab swerved to avoid a cyclist. They've described using a dog-leash and a belt to help keep Ms Green alive.

The incident is thought to have happened during her first few hours in the city.

The "devastated" father of a British woman who had part of her leg severed by a New York taxi is flying out to America to keep a bedside vigil.
Sian Green has already undergone surgery after yesterday's incident, with city police investigating whether or not her injuries were caused by road rage.
Speaking from outside his home in Leicester, Ms Green's father Jason told the Leicester Mercury: "She is in recovery now, and they have had to amputate what's left of her foot.
"We are a really close family we are all devastated by what has happened.
"We don't know what to say."
NYPD: Cause of taxi collision 'under investigation'
A spokesman for New York Police Department has confirmed that a driver who hit a British tourist, seriously injuring her legs, has not been arrested or charged.
He said two other people - the driver and a cyclist involved in a collision which caused the taxi to veer on to the pavement - were also treated for injuries.

Doctor Mehmet Oz was at the scene of the accident in New York and helped treat the woman, Sian Green from Leicester, whilst waiting for an ambulance.
