Police originally appealed for the items over the weekend

West Mercia Police say there are continuing to look for Georgia Williams' missing bag, make-up bag, mobile phone and jacket.

The bag is a 'distinctive' spotty leather satchel, and her pink make-up bag has a flowered pattern and contains various items of makeup.

The black, leather-type coat Georgia was wearing when she was last seen leaving her family's home is also missing, along with her white Samsung Galaxy Y smartphone.

Police have confirmed that the body discovered on Friday near Wrexham has been formally identified as Georgia Williams.

The senior police officer leading the investigation has also confirmed that a post mortem examination has been completed and that the cause of death was 'pressure to the neck'.

“I can now confirm that the body found in woodland off the Nant-y-Garth pass near Wrexham on Friday afternoon has been formally identified as that of 17-year-old Georgia Williams," Detective Superintendent McGee said.

“An inquest into Georgia’s death will be opened at Wellington Civic Centre at 2pm this afternoon but this will be immediately adjourned until a later date," he added.

17-year-old Georgia Williams disappeared from her home in Wellington in Shropshire on Sunday May 26. Police searching for her discovered a body in woodland off the Nant-y-Garth pass near Wrexham on Friday. Officers have yet to formally identify the body.

Georgia Williams: Murder charge

A 22-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of Georgia Williams.

Jamie Reynolds from Avondale Road, Wellington, in Shropshire, appeared via a video link at Stafford Crown Court. The hearing lasted 10 minutes. He is due to appear again on September 6th.

The court heard the trial is due to take place in the late autumn and is expected to last two weeks
