The Home Secretary Theresa May has joined hundreds of police to remember officers who have died on duty.
The service in York came just two weeks after the deaths of two officers in Manchester.
PC Fiona Bone, who grew up in Castle Donington in Leicestershire, and PC Nicola Hughes were shot dead while on duty.
