Man and woman released following arrest after woman found dead in Leicester house
A man and a woman who were arrested in connection with the death of a woman in Leicester have been released.
Officers from Leicestershire Police were called to a house on St Austell Road in Thurnby Lodge at 3.40am on Sunday 12 January by East Midlands Ambulance Service.
The 33-year-old woman was declared dead at the scene.
An investigation into the woman's death has been launched and Leicestershire Police has referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) due to prior police contact.
A post-mortem examination was carried out but the exact cause of the woman’s death remains unclear as the results were inconclusive. Further tests will now be carried out.
A 29-year man and a 37-year-old woman were arrested in connection with the incident. The man has been released on police bail and the woman has been released with no further action.
The scene preservation at the house in St Austell Road has now also been lifted.
Leicestershire Police said the woman’s family continue to be supported by officers.
