Attempted murder arrest after three people stabbed in Birmingham on New Year's Eve

Police have arrested a 64-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder after two women and a man were stabbed in Birmingham on New Year's Eve.

West Midlands Police were called to Doncaster Way in Hodge Hill just before 9pm. Two women aged 18 and 20 were attacked, along with a 25-year-old man.

The 20-year-old woman remains in hospital with injuries which police have described are serious, but not life-threatening.

The other two victims have since been released from hospital.

Det Insp Tom Lyons, from our Major Crime Unit, said: “We have officers at the scene today speaking to witnesses and recovering CCTV and would appeal for anyone with information to come forward."
