Boy, 17, charged with murder after stabbing teenager in Derbyshire town
A 17-year-old boy has been charged with murder after a teenager was stabbed to death in a Derbyshire town.
Noah Smedley, 18, was stabbed in Ilkeston on Saturday 28 December.
Eight people, including seven teenagers, were arrested in connection with his death.
A 17-year-old boy has now been charged with Noah's murder and possession of a bladed article.
The boy cannot be identified for legal reasons due to his age.
He will appear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on New Year's Day.
Four other 17-year-old boys had been arrested on suspicion of murder. One of those has been released on bail while the other three have been released with no further action.
A 16-year-old girl who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released on bail, and another 16-year-old girl also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, has been released with no further action.

A 52-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released on bail.
Several of Noah's friends have shared Derbyshire Police's appeals for information on the stabbing along with their own tributes to Noah.
One wrote on social media: "Fly high - gone way too soon. Loved and missed by everyone. My heart goes out to your family. RIP Noah Smedley."
Derbyshire Police has said its investigation is still ongoing, and have encouraged anyone with information relevant to the case to get in touch.
