Air ambulance sent to Wolverhampton park after a teenager is stabbed in broad daylight

An air ambulance was seen leaving a park in Wolverhampton today after a teenager was stabbed.

The stabbing happened in West Park near the city centre on the afternoon of Thursday, December 19.

West Midlands Police has confirmed a 17-year-old boy was found with non-life-threatening injuries

It's understood the helicopter landed near the National Cycle Route to the east of the park. A witness saw the air ambulance leave the area at around 2pm.A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "We were called to West Park, Wolverhampton, shortly after 1pm today after a 17 year-old boy was found with a stab wound. He has been taken to hospital with an injury which is not thought to be life-threatening.
