Man seriously injured after being chased down street and attacked with baseball bat in Leicester
A man is in hospital with serious injures after he was chased down the street and attacked with a baseball bat in Leicester on Tuesday 17 December.
The man, in his 40s, came out of his house on Clifton Road at around 6.15pm after hearing a disturbance from a nearby house.
He was confronted by three men coming out of the house, who then chased him into Lansdowne Road where he was assaulted with a baseball bat.
He tried to flag down a passing motorist, whose car was also attacked. No-one in the car was injured.
The victim was taken to hospital with a head injury and fractures to his leg. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
The suspects made off on foot and police are now appealing for witnesses to get in touch. The suspects have been described as being of Eastern European appearance, in their late 20s to early 30s, about 5ft 6ins tall, of stocky build, with beards and short black hair. They were wearing dark clothing.
Lansdowne Road remains closed from Saffron Lane up to Lorrimer Road, while officers carry out enquiries at the scene.
