Fourth arrest after man shot dead in car in Edgbaston

A fourth man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Raad Asmael - who was shot dead in a car in Edgbaston. The 21-year-old was arrested last night on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and remains in custody for questioning.Mr Asmael, aged 27, was pronounced dead after he was shot inside a car in Rotton Park Road at the junction of City Road in Edgbaston just before 11pm on 22 November.

A 24-year-old man was previously arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.

Two other men, aged 25 and 31, were held on suspicion of assisting an offender. All three have since been bailed pending further enquiries.

As part of the police investigation into the murder an unrelated firearm was recovered from an address. Detective Chief Inspector Laura Harrison said: “Our investigation continues to progress, and we have kept Raad's family up to date with the news of the arrests."It is still really important that we hear from anyone with information about what might have happened or why."We want to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and anyone who may have dashcam footage."
