Man charged with woman's murder in Coventry

A man has been charged with murder after a woman died at a property in Coventry.

Astra Sirapina was found injured at an address on Burnaby Road on Tuesday (10 Dec) but the 62-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Arturs Putrasevics, aged 39, of no fixed address, is due to appear before Coventry Magistrates Court today charged with murder and possession of a bladed article in a public place.

Our thoughts remain with Astra’s loved ones at this difficult time," West Midlands Police force said.Police cars remained outside the property yesterday (December 11) as investigations took place. It is understood a detailed forensic examination of the scene was being conducted.
