M1 lanes reopen after overturned lorry causes 'severe delays' in Derbyshire

All lanes have reopened on the M1 southbound in Derbyshire after an overturned lorry caused severe delays.

Drivers were held up in traffic close to Junction 30 for the A616 (Worksop / Sheffield South) following the incident on Tuesday morning.

All traffic was temporarily held on the southbound junction at the height of the incident.

Delays were up to an hour long as traffic had been held since 6.50am.

All lanes have since reopened, with 45 minutes of residual delays expected.

In an update, National Highways said: "All lanes are now open on the #M1 southbound within J30 (#Barlbrough) due to an earlier overturned lorry.

"There are residual delays of 45 minutes on approach, so please allow extra journey time."
