Snow hits the Midlands! Parts of the region left white after Storm Arwen strikes overnight
Parts of the Midlands have been left white with snow after Storm Arwen struck overnight.
There has been disruption to railway services, with services cancelled between Birmingham and Lichfield due to fallen trees.
The storm has also caused damage to property.
The Bishop of Worcester, John Inge, said a large stone came through the roof of the cathedral overnight, causing extensive damage.
Meanwhile, Dudley Zoo announced it was closed to visitors after the downpour of snow.
Staff say most of the animals have stayed inside their dens to keep warm, although others, including the barbary sheep and reindeers, have ventured out to explore in the snow.
