The festive spirit is already in full swing in Birmingham, with a new trail of snowmen scattered around the city.

It features 12 colourful sculptures which have been decorated by local artists, in a tribute to Raymond Briggs' classic book and animated film, The Snowman.

The team behind the trail says each one is inspired by one of the 12 Days of Christmas, and they have been placed the at key locations across the city centre so that families can go and find them using a special map.

The sculptures will be displayed at locations including the Bullring and Grand Central, the Mailbox, Centenary Square and Victoria Square, near to the German Market.
