Hockley gun attack: Teenager suffers life-changing injuries after shooting in Birmingham

A 13-year-old is in a critical condition after being shot in the back in Birmingham.
The teenage victim suffered injuries believed to be life-changing in the incident in Hockley Circus shortly before 7pm on Thursday.
West Midlands Police said the teenager was walking in the area when he was shot in the back.
He remains in hospital in a critical condition with injuries which are believed to be life-changing.
The force added the area will remain closed on Friday morning as forensic inquiries are conducted.
Imran Hameed said he was driving under the flyover when he came acrossthe police scene.
Mr Hameed said: “I was driving past Bingley Hall at 7.53pm and there was about eight or nine regular police cars and undercover cars.
“The officers were dotted around.
“There was one by the underpass which was taped off. There was another officer by the other entrance to the underpass opposite."
Four police vans and around eight officers are guarding the scene with various parts of the underpass.Three male detectives were seen making inquiries with local businesses and hunting for CCTV.
West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a gunshot incident near to Hockley Circus in Birmingham at 7.16pm last night.
"One ambulance, two paramedic officers and a MERIT trauma doctor attended the scene.
"On arrival we discovered one patient, a teenage male, who was treated for serious injuries before being taken to hospital for further treatment."
Police have said they are appealing for anyone with dashcam footage to come forward to help identify those responsible for the shooting.
The force also asked any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
