Kings Heath stabbing: Schoolboys arrested after teen 'knifed by machete in six-on-one attack'
A 14-year-old and a 15-year-old have been arrested after a teenager was stabbed outside a row of shops in Birmingham.
The six-on-one attack happened in Kings Heath on Wednesday, November 3. The 17-year-old victim was found with serious injuries after the disorder and now is in a serious but stable condition.
Police believe the teenager was set upon by a group of six people in a "targeted" attack as at 7.30pm on Wednesday evening.
A knife was discovered at the scene, believed to be a machete, and is now being forensically examined.
A 14-year-old and a 15-year-old boy have been arrested on suspicion of wounding, and remain in police custody.
In a statement, West Midlands Police said: "We understand there was a disorder outside the shops before he was attacked by a group of six people."
"Officers sent to search the area found a knife nearby. It’s been recovered and will be forensically examined as part of the ongoing investigation."
The force added: "We believe the attack was targeted and two boys, aged 14 and 15, have been arrested on suspicion of wounding."
Police are in the area conducting house to house enquiries, interviewing local residents and trawling CCTV. The scene remains cordoned off as police urge any witnesses to come forward with information.A spokesperson for West Midlands Police continued: "Our priority is to find out what happened, and who is involved.
