Woman, 31, found dead in Kettering home as police launch murder investigation

A murder investigation has been launched after a 31-year-old woman was found dead inside a home in Wood Street, Kettering.

Police officers attended an address just after midday on Tuesday and after forcing entry, discovered the woman’s body inside.

A 38-year-old man who officers are treating as a suspect was also found inside the property with serious injuries and he has since been taken to hospital.

Detective Inspector Pete Long from the Major Crime Team, said: "First of all I want to express my condolences to the family and friends of this woman who are all going through an unimaginably difficult and distressing time."

"Specially trained officers have been sent to support them and we will do everything in our power to get them justice."

He added: "I want to use this opportunity to appeal for any witnesses or anyone with information to please get in touch with us."

Police confirmed extra patrols will be taking place in the area to reassure the community.
