Man arrested following fatal stabbing in Kings Norton

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after another man died from stab wounds in hospital.
The man, in his 20s, was found with serious injuries in Middleton Hall Road around 9.30pm on Friday 1 October and died in hospital the next day (2 October).His family have been informed and is being supported by specialist officers.
A 20-year-old man was arrested yesterday (2 October) and remains in custody for questioning.

Roads were closed were closed at the junctions with Lomaine Drive and Station road, along with Selly Oak Road at Northfield Road, while forensic examinations are carried out.
Police say this was to allow officers time to conduct a fingertip search of the area looking for forensic opportunities to identify his killer.
Officers say it is currently unclear how the victim came about his injuries and are appealing for information.
Detective Inspector Ade George, from the force’s homicide unit, is leading the enquiry. He said: “This is a complex enquiry as we believe the victim was stabbed and then walked some distance before seeking help, so our search covers a wide area.
“This young man has lost his life in the most tragic of circumstances and his family are devastated. We have specialist officers with them and we are working hard to get the answers they deserve and bring his killer to justice.”
