Pride of Britain: 18-year-old Sebbie Hall raised £40,000 through random acts of kindness

The ITV Central Pride of Britain Regional Fundraising Award is given to an individual from the West Midlands, who has gone above and beyond for others, and raised money for charity.

An 18-year-old from Lichfield has been nominated for a Pride of Britain award for raising thousands of pounds by simply carrying out random acts of kindness.

During lockdown Sebbie Hall wanted to raise a thousand pounds with a hundred acts of kindness, - but it's carried on for over a year, and has raised nearly £40,000.

Mr Hall has a rare chromosome anomaly which means he has learning and physical difficulties. He struggles with normal daily life skills, but his superpower is kindness.

The money raised by Sebby's acts of kindness has had a huge impact on his local community.

He's bought adapted laptops to help children with special needs communicate and funded an arts hub, where young people who cant communicate naturally, can engage with music and theatre and overcome that barrier.

Organiser Maggie Huckfield says Sebby's fundraising has made a huge difference

Ms Huckfield said: "It's made a huge difference, it's opened up opportunities, its opened up voices, whereas before communication was their barrier. Everyone has been a winner here and it's an amazing project to be part of."

Sebby also funded a mixed ability rugby group that's supported by coaches at Lichfield Rugby Club, with support from the former England and Leicester Tigers player Will Greenwood.

"What Sebbie had done is really open to all and accessible to all at Lichfield and I am blown away that he has put my name to it, it should be the Sebbie Hall team".

Sebbie's philosophy is simple - 'stay safe, be kind and leave no one behind'.
