Stranded cow rescued from the mud by fire crews, vets - and a digger
It took fire crews, vets, and a digger to rescue a cow that got stranded in a muddy brook in Rutland yesterday (August 3).
Th animal was found trapped in the mud in a brook in Uppingham.
In a post on Facebook, a spokesperson for Uppingham Fire Station said:
"Today Uppingham crew, technical rescue and Rutland Veterinary Centre rescued a cow who had taken it upon herself to venture into local brook and got stuck."
Using animal rescue equipment, she was strapped in and lifted out, and was then carried back down the road to her rightful place on the farm - still suspended in the air.
The post continued: "Well done to all involved."
