A manufacturing company in Coventry is set to make around 200 job cuts because of Covid-19.

Liberty Pressing Solutions made the announcement due to the unprecedented economic downturn caused by the pandemic.

The company added it was also compounded by an already challenging automotive market.

The site in Burnsall Rd in Canley was previously CovPress before being acquired by the Liberty House Group in January 2017.

It specialises in commodities, metals recycling, manufacture of steel, aluminium and engineering products.

Liberty Pressing Solutions said they will closely consult employees and do everything possible to mitigate the impact.

Where possible the redundancies will be done on a voluntary basis, the company added.
