Coventry City Football Club and the University of Warwick are planning a partnership to develop a new stadium for the football club.

The University would provide the land to the club, but the exact site of the ground hasn't yet been agreed. It's likely to be situated close to the University's main campus at the southwest edge of Coventry.

The Sky Blues would own and be responsible for the stadiums costs and its operation.

The Club and University say they are committed to building an environmentally friendly stadium. A new rail station and link road are also being proposed for supporters to travel to and from the new ground.

Coventry will be playing in the Championship next season after recently securing promotion from League One.

The club played its home football games during the 2019/20 season at Birmingham City's St Andrew's after an agreement wasn't reached for them to play at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.
