Businesses in Sandwell are warned as coronavirus cases rise
Businesses in Sandwell are being advised by the council as coronavirus cases rise in the area.
Sandwell Council has written to businesses with the Public Health Team's advice on how to open and operate safely in the midst of an ongoing pandemic.
The letter has also been translated in different languages spoken locally, in a bid to halt a surge of COVID-19 cases in Sandwell after it was recently reported that the number of positive cases had increased.
The council has also created an online advice page for borough businesses.
The Director of Public Health, Dr Lisa McNally, said it's very difficult managing the outbreak, as by the time her team knew about an outbreak, there were already dozens of cases and a major outbreak underway.
Dr McNally said that "businesses need to understand that it is their responsibility to inform the council's Public Health Team if they have two or more cases of COVID-19".
