Both stabbed paramedics released from hospital
West Midlands Ambulance Service Paramedic Deena Evans, who was stabbed while on a call out earlier this week, has now been discharged from hospital.
Paramedics Deena Evans and Michael Hipgrave were attending a 999 call on Stephens Close in Wolverhampton at about 12.20pm on Monday when the incident took place.
Deena was released from Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, on Wednesday after suffering a knife wound to her chest. She is now continuing her recovery at home.
Michael Hipgrave is also at home, after suffering injuries to his back.
Both Deena and Michael are said to be in good spirits.
Martyn Smith was remanded in custody after a short hearing at Wolverhampton Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
An application for bail was refused and Smith was ordered to appear at the city's Crown Court on August 5.
